Plan of Salvation

Salvation

Are you a good person? Are you good enough to go to Heaven when you die? Exactly how good is good  enough?

WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE THE LORD ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT, HE WILL NOT JUDGE YOU BY YOUR STANDARDS, BUT BY HIS STANDARDS.

God set the standard for your life through His law, the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, even something small? Jesus said that if you lust after another person, it’s the same as commiting the actual act of adultery. Have you ever lusted after another person? If you are honest, you cannot say you have not broken one of these commandments. And these are only three of the ten. God’s Word states that thieves, liars, the sexually immoral, and the covetous shall not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), but shall have their part in the lake of fire that burns for eternity (Revelation 21:8).

You are guilty of breaking God’s law. He receives no pleasure from punishing you, but as a just and holy God, He must punish those who break His law, just like a judge in a court of law must punish those who break civil law. So what can you do? Nothing. But God can…and He did.

I have good news for you!

When there was nothing you could do to come to God, He instead came to you. In fact, God loves you so much that, even while you are a sinner, Jesus Christ died upon a cruel and bloody cross for you. He did not die to make you happy, but He died that so when you stand before the Lord you can stand there in confidence and assurance, clothed in His righteousness.

It’s as simple as this: you have broken God’s law, but He has paid your debt through Jesus’ death on the cross.

You need to understand that…

■ God loves you!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His

Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)

■ You are a sinner, separated from God

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

■ Jesus is the only way to God

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”(John 14:6)

■ You must receive Jesus as Lord and Savior

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever

shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:9,13)

Do you feel the Spirit of God touching your heart right now? If you do, don't turn Him away. You don't know what tomorrow holds. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Pray this prayer...

Dear Jesus, I’m sorry for my sins. I know that you died on the cross for my sins and have risen from the dead. I open my heart to receive You as my Savior and Lord. Forgive me of my sins. Change me, and make me into the kind of person You want me to be. Help me to live for You and to share Your love with others. Amen.

Simply repeating this prayer will not save you. But, if you prayed this prayer with all your heart, we want to rejoice with you! Please take a moment to e-mail us and tell us of your decision.
